Gary Whitaker aka The Storyman is a Master Storyteller who has been performing professionally since 1997. He is acclaimed as a Master teller of Ghost Tales, Irish and Scottish Folk Tales; Medieval and Celtic legends and epics such as Beowulf and Arthurian Tales, also the Canterbury Tales. He is also well known for some of his historical programs such as the Civil War Veteran and the story of Captain Jack Coffee Hays. Mr. Whitaker performed at the Ghost Story Concert for the Tejas Storytelling Festival in Denton from 2003 – 2008 and was asked by the TSA to produce the 2009 concert. He has also presented several Historical Storytelling Workshops at the TSA Festival over the years. Mr. Whitaker is a regular performer at the North Texas Irish Festival for the last 6 years. He has brought his storytelling to schools all across Texas presenting over 500 performances. The Storyman has also performed in library’s across Tarrant County. In October of 2009 Mr. Whitaker will be the focus of an article in Society Life Magazine in the ARTS section. The Storyman loves to bring the story to life and to help his audience live it.
